Match Abandoned without toss
We do not return with the best of news! The GAME HAS BEEN CALLED OFF! It rained throughout the day and the outfield took a real beating. It wouldn't be possible to get the ground ready in time and hence, the game has been abandoned. The teams share a point each with which the Scottish have managed to open their account. Action from the tri series now resumes on Wednesday as the hosts will take on Scotland. Till then, goodbye and take care.
Update 2006 IST (1436 GMT) - Well, we should have had the toss now but it is raining and the TOSS HAS BEEN DELAYED! An inspection will be done in around 30 minutes or so. Let us hope for some positive news.
It is time for the third game of the tri series and it is a clash between Ireland and Scotland. The former won the first game they played whereas, the latter were beaten by the hosts. Ireland are yet again favourites entering this game but Scotland can't be taken lightly. We had an absolute cracker of a game on Sunday and we hope we have another exciting one. Stay tuned for the toss and teams.
... MATCH DAY ...
Ireland and Scotland are set to face each other in the Netherlands T20 Tri-series 2024. Scotland comes into this game with a loss against the hosts, whilst Ireland have won their first game against the Dutch and are placed above their opponents. It was a close encounter between Ireland in their last game. Their openers couldn't bat deep and were dismissed early with the middle order also not performing well. However, Lorcan Tucker and Mark Adair stood up to the occasion and absorbed the pressure, scoring some big runs for the team. Their bowling unit also took responsibility and took timely wickets. Mark Adair and Curtis Campher struck twice but the star of the lineup was Fionn Hand who scalped three to help their team defend the target in a close encounter. Scotland, on the other hand, have started off the tri-series with a loss against the hosts. They need to put up a better performance in this one to boost their morale. Their bowling unit did well but they allowed some partnerships to develop which hurt them in the chase. Chris Sole and Gavin Main were the pick of the bowlers with their two wickets each. Their batters also will have to make sure not to give away their wickets easily. The openers seem to be out of form while their skipper Richie Berrington put up a strong stand with Matthew Cross. They gave some hope to the team but after that, none of the others could make any impact. Which team are you supporting?
