The Coastal Trail at Lands End in San Francisco is a wonderful place to walk, but most visitors to the city don’t know it’s there.

Historic Fisherman’s Wharf is one of San Francisco’s must-sees. The journey itself is an experience – you can jump on the classic cable car from the city centre. Dine at a (beautiful to look at) waterfront restaurant (try the famous sourdough bread bowl).
Explore local shops and art galleries, watch street performances and don’t miss the historic WWII submarine USS Pampanito. You can catch all these attractions on foot, by bike or on a big bus tour.

8. COIT TOWER
From the top of Coit Tower, you can have another very wide view of San Francisco. No climbing as the lift takes you to the top. I liked this view and I think it’s better than the view from Twin Peaks.

Until the 1930s (when the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges were built), most people came to San Francisco by ferry, which docked right here at the Ferry Building.
In 2003, this building was reopened after a long/big renovation and is now a public food market.
